Below is a basement-remodeling project that consists of two rooms. This home originally had no staircase to the basement so we were asked to add one. In doing so we also needed to incorporate a balcony railing along with a custom built gate to match. The stairs treads are Red Oak that also matches the railing. One room will be used as a family room and the other will be used as a care center for the owners prize winning Malamute Huskies. The family room would need a sub-floor, which would be allowed to breath to prevent any condensation from accumulating. We installed a DRYCORE sub-floor to keep this from happening. The ceiling of the room is a 2X2 panel drop ceiling by ARMSTRONG. The room also boosts a 6' x 28" closet with Bifolding doors. In the care center along with two storage spaces, we also added a custom built counter with a sink.
